DISC is a private corporation founded by Dr. Dale Gelskey (President & CEO), a medical physicist and nuclear engineer with 20 years experience in diagnostic radiology, and Mr. Robert LaFrance (Senior Engineer), an x-ray and electronics engineer with over 30 years experience in diagnostic radiology.
Quality control and calibration instruments provide the foundation on which DISC is built. In addition to these devices, DISC provides instrumentation which solves problems with existing radiological systems. With expertise in engineering and physics, DISC analyzes system needs, designs innovative electronics, constructs engineering and production prototypes, and manufactures finished products.
Since the early 1980's, DISC's personnel have been active in the scientific community, collaborating with many Canadian and US Universities. Scientific publications and presentations establish a sound and credible foundation upon which our products are built. It's personnel maintain appointments at the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg General Hospital and professional associations such as the American Association of Physicists in Medicine AAPM, ensuring current state-of-the-art knowledge and skills.
Innovative technology serves as the cornerstone for DISC's products. Solid state sensor technology provides devices which respond accurately and precisely to various radiation beams. Our product warranty ensures our customers' full service and replacement.
The DISC manufacturing and research facility contains eleven thousand square feet and is located within easy access to the Winnipeg International Airport. Shipments are made throughout the world within a few days.
